From Surviving to Joy
I woke up in pain every single day.
From the time I was 14 until I was 30, my body and I were at odds. I would have seasons of great health and well intended habits only to slide back to binge eating and couch potatoing.
Then I had my kids, and my weight started climbing — up and down, over and over. 150. 190. 200. 215. 250. 283 pounds. A size 28.
At 4'11.5" I was miserable. My body hurt. My heart was heavy.
I'd lose the weight. I'd gain it back — plus more. Over and over.
Then my daughter got cancer at four years old, and almost died.
That's when everything shifted.
I knew I had to be present — for her, for my son, for my family, for myself. So I found the tools I needed: a gastric sleeve, nutrition, and then strength training. I lost over 100 pounds. My daughter fought, and she survived. My family learned what it means to actually live — because all we have is today.
Years later, a frightening stalking situation followed and menopause came early. And the weight came back.
So I turned to new tools again — talk therapy, IFS training, yoga teacher training, Shaman journey, Meditation/Breathwork, skin removal surgery, personal trainers, a GLP-1 medication — and I got back to my goal weight.
But this time, something was different. I was in my forties, and one morning I woke up and felt JOY in my body. A tingling, happy feeling in my bones. All the new habits were working.
No pain. I felt FREEDOM.
That's when I finally understood: the mindset work. The shadow work. Therapy. Yoga. Strength training. The tiny daily habits I almost gave up on a hundred times, they had all finally clicked and lined up.
And I knew I couldn't keep it to myself.
Now I help people who are overworked, overweight, in pain, or stuck in a suffering mindset break free — and find their way back to JOY.
